Grand Bahama Yacht Charter
Full of history and charm, Grand Bahama is a complete vacation destination. There are three distinct destinations, East End, Freeport/Lucaya and West End, each offering their own unique experience.
West End is the capital of Grand Bahama with recorded history dating to the 16th century. Freeport is the tourist hub and most densely populated offering shopping, restaurants and major resorts. The rest of the island to the east is sparsely populated culminating in a delta of cays just 10 miles south of Spanish Wells on Abaco.
Through the centuries Freeport and West End have a history of wreckers, smugglers and rum-runners, from the Revolutionary War to the days of Prohibition. In modern times though the island's economy is dependent on fishing and tourism.
If you’re looking to tour some natural surroundings, explore the island’s three national parks, two of which are home to a large number of native birds.
Two airports serve the island, the international airport in Freeport and the smaller West End airport.
